Sri Kamakshi Srividya Samithi (SKSVS) is our Jagadguru Pujyashri Shankara Vijayendra Saraswati Shankaracharya Swamiji’s brilliant vision to inculcate cultural and traditional values in children and thereby safeguard the well being of the future generations.
Women are torchbearers of culture and civilization. Following the maxim “Where women are honored, Devas like to reside there (Manu Smriti)” SKSVS works to equip women with knowledge, skill and confidence so that they may pass on the right values and moral determination to their children.
In the present-day world, moral and traditional values have been dispersed as the autumn leaves in the gale of material pursuit. To improve the current situation, it is important to raise children with Sanskar and Sanskruthi as the future generation’s progress and development depends on them.
In 2019 in accordance with Pujyashri Kanchi Shankaracharya Swamiji’s ` aagnai’ (direction) Sri Kamakshi Srividya Samithi, KKSF, USA was started as a sister organization to the one in India.
Our first major event was in the Shankaracharya’s 53 rd Jayanthi celebration in 2020 in which we offered a musical samarpanam titled Guruvandana Kadamba Mala. This focused on bringing together children from 30 different cities in USA to offer song and shlokas at the feet of Pujyashri Swamiji.
The children also participated in the first Sahasradala Padma Aradhanam (SDPA) program held worldwide organized by SKSVS in March 2020, where children and adults performed prescribed stotras as a samarpanam to His Holiness. The second of such programs SDPA 2 USA is being held on April 30, 2023, under the auspices of SKSVS, USA with participation from 16 centers across the USA.
Structured programs of shloka classes, Tulasi Pooja etc. for girls are part of this ongoing initiative; the emphasis is on bringing out the best of traditional values in children. We invite you all to participate in this unique effort to strengthen Sanathana Dharma.
